I checked in the code which sets the PATH environment variable at
runtime to include the bin, but on looking thru the GUB code it looks
like there are registry entries made for PATH, and indeed on a machine
where I have just deleted the GNU_Denemo directory (instead of the
sloooow uninstall) I find there are several entries in the systemwide
PATH pointing to it.
So it looks like the gub install sets PATH, and from what Nils said on
irc #denemo, I gather that the lilypond problem is that it cannot find
the scheme. Denemo sets GUILE_LOAD_PATH at runtime - perhaps it needs to
invoke the spawn of lilypond with this. I'll try to do that.
