I realize now that the various translators have their own preferences.
The reason that the floating windows came in is that some translators
requested this. I have been doing quite a number of 'impossible' things
in Gtk in order to get floating Windows, which are not natively
available in Gtk. The floating Windows give the translators the option
to arrange the Windows to their own liking, whereas the previous window
layout was less flexible. So I have no intention to go back to window
layout of the 3.x versions. Patches are welcome though.

I do much appreciate the work that you have been doing, Dan, over the
various years, to port Bibledit to Windows. You had to cope with a
swiftly changing code base, which made porting to Windows harder. I
realize that there are more people using Windows, so that means that the
port you create is likely to be used by more users than the Linux
version.

Not sure if this is an appropriate time, but I have been having problems with how windows are handled in Bibledit-gtk 4.3. I have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the window to edit footnotes, which makes it tedious for a long chapter. Also, if I resize the translation window and lose the bottom right corner, I can't resize it anymore.
