Two long, drawn out threads and I still haven't gotten this through to you?

You do _not_ want to use CDRecord/DVDRecord for DVD-RAM/RW.
Using a linear stream of characters to record to a media that has to "emulate"
that is not ideal.

You use the blocking kernel interrfaces instead.
Some of us have with DVD-RAM since inception over 7 years ago.
