Can you try manually shutting down the clam software before shutting
down the computer? The freezing problem is certainly because some
program is still registered with Dazuko. (When no programs are
registered, Dazuko doesn't do anything.)

If module unloading is supported, you can also unload the module
before shutting down. If it says that Dazuko is still in use, then
some program is still running that is registered.

This is an additional step that can be taken. But if all registered
applications are shut down, this additional step is not necessary. It
is only mentioned in the FAQ because some people did not want to shut
down the registered applications before shutting down the
computer. But the correct solution is to make sure all programs are
shut down first.

There is probably a configuration option in the clam software to add
excluded paths.
