Hi Dhirendra, Its very nice to hear that you are going to work on
OpenOffice support for Malayalam. We only made a'dirty' solution,
it just works only. But we should make a good solution using
Unicode,OTF etc. A team from NCST has done it for MS Windows (I
think its based on OTF). So you can extend this into Malayalam in
GNU/Linux. (http://forum.gnu.org.in/Volunteers/Members/baiju/i18n
for links) Before localization, we have to make
internationalization (please read gettext manual ,$info gettext) We
have to add Malayalam OpenType layout suport as done in pango
(http://www.gtk.org,http://www.pango.org) Then it can support
Malayalam properly with any unicode compatible OTF font.
Please join our mailing list, we can discuss any technical stuffs
there. address@hidden, also send your savannah ID, so that I
can add you as a developer there.
