That's probably going to be harder than you think. From what I can
tell, archfs wasn't exactly built with performance considerations as the
highest priority. I have 367 backups, and I can't even get archfs to
finish loading (that means I can't even browse the directory tree). I
filed a bug, but it's really a design issue.
