There is no mention in the other thread, but do I understand it correctly that the spice guest tools installer for XP installs a broken version of the virtio NIC driver? Do you think that upgrading/downgrading to a non-broken version of the virtio NIC driver would solve this without having to switch NIC types (Windows is notoriously bad at tolerating NIC changes)?
