Hi,
Finally, the problem had nothing to do with the Echelon U10 device.
"-net nic,model=virtio" just does not work with "-usb", see also
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/spice-devel/2013-July/014018.html
Without "model=virtio" everything works as expected, great!
