thanks for the suggestion Ben. But that leads me to 2 more things.
1. I couldn't ignore the warnings because they killed the run keeping it from producing the .sav file. Is there a setting that can be changed to allow for more than 100 warnings? This does work on SPSS but I don't have SPSS on our liniux box.
2. We aren't on the newest version because we couldn't get it to install. We are running CentOS release 5.10 (Final) and we are on PSPP .6.2
I could not get the .8.3 to compile:
./configure –without-cairo –without-gui

You must install them before PSPP can be built:
gsl version 1.13
or later

I’ve also compiled and installed gsl 1.9 manually and still
no go.
Does anyone have any ideas on what we could do to get this setup?

You can ignore these warnings, which should be harmless, or you can
upgrade to a newer version of PSPP. The most recent versions of PSPP
raise the limit for value labels to 255 bytes.
