Yes, as mentionned in my original post.
I don't thing the problem is on MySQL (but not sure). Perhaps it's a
compatibility problem between phpgroupware and XP. Just an idea. I prefer a
linux configuration, but I don't have a PC to install it now, and my PC have to
be under a Micro$oft OS for developpement and administration purpose...

GRANT ALL on phpgroupware.* TO phpgw_user IDENTIFIED BY
"IReallyShouldUseShorterPasswordsSoICanRememberThem"; ??
in mysql?
I have phpgw running on mysql 4.0.iforget on my laptop ... runs well
