Whether or not the maps work has nothing to do with the link as long as you get the position at least once and hence the map position is initialized. It should show the coordinates under your mouse in the top right corner.
You can also run a simulation and download the maps there.

  I am getting problem in GCS . I am getting  black window with some way points but I am not able to see google map. I have done with option in left corner of GCS  but it does nothing. In paparazzi center I am getting one error which is like this:

And checked  this path but this file is not opening.
