Just to be sure: we have seen some ARDrones where the magnetormeter stops updating. This obviously causes the heading error Loic talks about, with the toilet ball effect as a result. Does your log have a Mag (cal / raw) measurement?

I would recommend in such case to check the heading accuracy:
- Use an external compass and compare it to your drone heading. Both measurements should match by less than 5 degrees.
- Repeat that test with motors running, sometimes magnetometers are perturbated by magnetic field generated by current.
These tests should be perfomed outdoor.

Something went wrong for sure. I am just not sure what. I apologize as the
flight is buried deep in a fairly long log. The time spent powering up,
waiting for 3D fix, moving waypoints before the flight then me not
unplugging the battery for a while and walking around with it after.

The actual flight is a few seconds of circles then I commanded it to
land...it clipped a tree and gravity finished the job of landing. Everything
still works but I'm at a loss to explain the behavior. I will attach a
screen shot of a replay of the logs I just did.

If you know the sample flight plan...it was supposed to CLIMB then hover at
STDBY only a few meters off the ground. Instead it circled in larger and
larger circles around STDBY until I told it to land. Odd since I flew this
same flight plan before with no issues.

All completely vanilla follow the instructions off the Wiki using the "raw"
ardrone2 airframe file. The flight plan I just updated the GPS LAT0, LON0
values to where I was flying.

Screenshot and logs attached for the curious. I replayed the logs in
Paparazzi Center log file player but still can not explain it.
