1) Yes i do this all the time, i have
lost track of how many of them i have used.
2) Absolutely not, video through a serial modem is out of the question. 3) i am not sure the 5v ftdi cable i use supplies 5v directly from the PC's usb port so if the usb port can supply 700+ma it can power it directly but for 3.3v the ftdi cable probably has a regulator inside it and i am not sure if it can provide 500ma needed for the max 0.5W RF output (when using 3.3v) Serial Signalling can be either 5 or 3.3v since both the modem and the LPC cpu are 5v tolerant. 4) i don't know as i have never used a 9xtend USB modem.
