Hi,

So this method seems nice but wont work with what we would
like to do with the paparazzi system. The most convenient way it seemed
for us to install this system is by using an external USB harddrive and
installing our system there.  Then we can boot from the hard drive and run our system from any computer that we have on hand at the time.  Your method will not work because I cannot find a way to install Windows Vista to the external hard drive. Every forum i read they all say that its not possible with windows vista because of the USB connection.   Some say it may be possible to use an eSATA hard drive rather than a USB but unfortunately we do not have an eSATA hard drive available.  Also, some forums talk about methods of doing it with Windows XP but we currently do not have this operating system available to us. So now im trying to install ubuntu directly to my hard drive. 

I found a tutorial on how to do this so i thought I would share it with you.  I'm going to go try it out now and see if i can get it to work.

Download VirtualBox from here:

Download Ubuntu from here:

Make sure you choose "Alternative Download Options" and select 8.04 LTS
(there are a few issues with 9.10 at the moment).
Install Ubuntu into VirtualBox
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/virtualbox
Then follow these instructions to install the latest SVN version of
Paparazzi into Ubuntu.

Make sure you get the paparazzi-dev package, and not the binaries (they
may be out of date).  Then follow the section "Install the Source Code".
That's the method I recommend to the braver of our 3rd years who are
using paparazzi and it usually works well.
