Follow-up Comment #20, bug #61472 (project octave):

Perhaps it is best to defer fixing this problem until after version 7 is
released and to make any changes related to it on the default branch?

Does mixing malloc and delete cause trouble for is in real life, at least for
the systems we currently care about?  If so, then we could also change the MEX
functions to fall back to copying data on those systems where it matters, at
least for now.
