It's mostly important for me as I don't have up-to-date fast HW, crossbuilding
take quite some time and once booted in linux, working from home on my
company's network while building Octave is suboptimal - I need to keep that
time minimized. Also I don't mind experimenting a bit - some distraction from
working from home is quite welcome in these covid-19 times :-)

As I wrote I find the current dependency system in mxe-octave quite robust.
I've backed out to earlier Qt versions before w/o a 'make uninstall' and then
it *did* work for several weeks - last time I must have forgotten some step,
or -equally well possible- borked it in some other, unrelated way.
