Follow-up Comment #16, bug #59968 (project octave):

Are you building from a release tarball or from the repository? In the latter
case, from the default or from the stable branch?

In comment #13, you wrote about linking errors. Now, it looks like you don't
even reach to that point and get an error during compilation already.
I wonder why that is. In case you are building from the repository, could you
please show the output of running ‘./bootstrap’? You might need to
compress the file before attaching it. The maximum size for uploads is quite
low on savannah. The config.log didn't make it afaics.
