Follow-up Comment #9, bug #60133 (project octave):
I tested the patch: legend now behaves much better. But I discovered a quirk:
if you shrink the figures window vertically and then restore it to it's
original size or larger, then you will find that legend moves up and partially
hides (screenshot attached).
