Follow-up Comment #6, bug #60133 (project octave):

I try to look into this soon but it doesn't look like a trivial change.
I tested in Matlab online, and prescribing the width(height) of the box only
works if there is enough room for the legend item, otherwise the automatic
width(height) is kept.
