Follow-up Comment #25, bug #57044 (project octave):

In any case, thanks for the explanation.  We can add a warning later if we
decide it is useful.

Should we go ahead with the change to eliminate the subrepo now?

Also, if we go ahead, should the patch from comment #10 be applied to stable
(with appropriate gnulib revision) and then merged to default (possibly with a
different gnulib revision)?
