Follow-up Comment #4:

An appstore message did not annoy me neither on my test system.  But I am not
a "native" Windows user...

Just to keep track of the progress.  Thanks to John D. (comment #2) two items
of the OP are fixed:

@Hartmut: Can you "reliably" reproduce this appstore warning?

@Markus: I have no idea about signing those installers.  But even if we did,
some users complained about their Malware-Overdetection-Tools to see a Virus
in the Octave installer.  Would you like to open a separate bug report about
this?
