Thanks, that's an interesting site.  In particular, one can visit
https://repology.org/project/nmh/badges and see
https://repology.org/badge/vertical-allrepos/nmh.svg which shows
Trisquel 9.0 and Ubuntu 18.04 allegedly have 1.7.1RC3.

BTW, Ken and David, shall we adopt Semantic Versioning?  All the crazy
cool kids are doing it.  https://semver.org

As well as helping decide when the major, minor, or patch version gets
updated for a release, it also details how pre-release candidates are
identified, e.g. 1.7.1RC3 doesn't comply.
