Actually, given 43d9833b,

which skipped the deprecation phase hasn't yet been released,

    $ git id 43d9833b
    1.7-branchpoint-530-g43d9833b
    $ git id HEAD
    1.7-branchpoint-716-gfc6bf3eb

and https://semver.org saying

    Given a version number MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, increment the:

        1. MAJOR version when you make incompatible API changes

presumably the next nmh release which includes 43d9833b will be
version 2.0.0?  :-)
