[Nel] Snowballs latest cvs compile, Runtime error

After fiddeling a bit and compiling the latest (today) cvs version of nel
and snowballs2, I get the following run-time error:

It crashed when initializing pacs.
If I debug and walk down in the code a bit, it throws the exception when
trying serializing I think.
But I do not realy understand the output...
Can anybody help me with this?

I use win32, vc6 sp5 pp.
