  Take a look at the "check program" test, you can write a bash script that connects to your LDAP server and have monit check the exit code and take action based on that.  I'm afraid shell scripting itself is out of scope for this list though...

You might be better off using a script for this one (even just a shell script and openldap tools could work) and using the "check program" test, particularly if encryption is involved.

I am trying to connect to an ldap server  using monit. However i am getting a failure message saying "Anonymous bind failure". Can anyone please tell me how to send the LDAP server credentials while connecting . Kindly tell me the exact send expect statements used in the monitrc file .
