It's "human-readable", but meant to be used with simple tools like an
editor with regex searching.

I frequently search it, backwards and forwards, for file names or parts
of file names. A long time ago, I omitted the list of files if "many"
changed in a single commit. That turned out to be a problem--searching
a nearly-complete compendium didn't reliably give me the information I
wanted--so I decided to write out every filename all the time.
