User-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Thunderbird/17.0

OK.
But noteworthy here is the fact that the SII was working when I initially installed the 2.002 version from Google play. As I was a bit annoyed that the speaker cannot be activated as long the called party hasn't reached I thought it would be worth to give the daily build a try. From that on no version of Linphone worked anymore. And with chance other testers might be affected as well, so I thought it's worth to understand what is wrong here. If there are issue with IP Stacks on SII, are there any plans to add more debug information to newer builds to find the cause of these problems? As the device is rooted, does it makes sense to use ping or traceroute or do some specific network tests?

Hi,

The REGISTER from the Note2 reaches the server whereas the REGISTER from
the SII doesn't reaches the server.

There are some issues with the IP stack on SII; using TLS should fix it.
The symptom is IP packets that disappear.

In the 1.x version you could choose TCP, UDP or TLS.
TLS has been removed recently due to French and USA exportation
regulations...

I guess your only option is to compile an apk from the sources.

Guillaume

So, here I have two log samples to compare: one of the note 2 (which
works) and one of the SII which fails to register. I removed the PID
by a pid string to make them easier to compare and run them with vim
-d through a compare (see screen shot). Any ideas why the SII now
fails while the Note 2 is still working, both using the same
version?

Here two more debug files.
I removed the fritz sip account and used only the sip.linphone.org
account.
The first was made without WLAN mode, putting the Phone in GSM
mode and ensured that an Internet connection was possible. Then I
started Linphone but it couldn't connect either.
Then I switched back to WLAN mode (because of better bandwidth)
and switched from UDP to TCP mode. However same symptom: no
registration succeeds (regarding the phone)

Hi,

I checked the server logs and I can see a succesfull registration at
12:39.

I guess your issue is due to the fritzbox.

Could you test with TLS enabled in the older Linphone android?

Yes, meanwhile I found that DEBUG option. I used it in connection
with logcat from the command line

adb logcat Linphone:V *:S| tee Linphone-debug

and recorded all from start of Linphone until exit, while both
defined SIP accounts (on to sip.linphone.org, one to a local fritz
box 7390 with open SIP interface) failed to connect. The result is
attached.
Is there any other log which contain results of the debug switch?

Hi,

Have you activated debug in settings?
Have you checked the logs?

Hi,
I recently installed on various devices the released
version of LinPhone for Android (2.0.2)

successfully and was
able to test it successfully. As there were some user interface
weaknesses, I wanted to give the latest daily build a try and
deinstalled the version from Google play on one of my
Android devices (as otherwise the daily build
wouldn't installed).

Then I installed the latest daily build (from
2013/01/03) on a rooted Samsung Galaxy SII. However that failed to
register with any of the the sip accounts and even wit
freshly made accounts from
sip.linphone.org. Even after deinstalling it and reinstalling version
>from Google play a connect was possible. Also other earlier
daily builds
between Dec 17th and today didn't make it run. Looks as if the daily
build has broken something and this does not vanish with
reinstallation.

Is there any way to debug the registration phase or to cleanse a
complete installation?

Any help or hint is appreciated.
