Something happened between brain and keyboard.  What I meant to write
was "and he actually didn't as far as I remember during the time of my
active tenure on LilyPond".  I agree that this does come off quite wrong
and will be misleading at the very least to everyone who hasn't stuck
around long enough to be versed in LilyPond's long-term history.
