There is one other source of documentation on CD-Text that I know of
that is relatively comprehensive.  Sony had a CD-Text pre-mastering tool
available for free download from
http://www.sonydadc.com/file/cdtext.zip.  It has a sub-directory that is
chock full of documentation, including examples of binary packed CD-Text
data.

Also, I believe the program itself will create the packed data, although
I have never run it.  So this offers another avenue to explore CD-Text.
 You might need an old version of Windows to install it, but you could
always run that in VirtualBox or something equivalent.

Now the bad news is that it's no longer available from Sony's website.
The good news is that if you paste that URL into the Internet Archive
Wayback Machine, you can still download it.
