I am wondering what is more amusing:

1) a puppy or a kitten trying to catch its own tail;
2) a cat chasing laser pointer light spot on a wall or a floor;
3) GPL proponents shooting themselves in the foot.

I know that this from time to time plays rather fast and loose with what it considers on topic for Octave help, but I for one feel like this sniping back and forth has gotten extremely misplaced for this help list.  I subscribe to this thread to help out those with Octave problems.  Not to listen to Sergei and others snipe at each other.  I feel like a ridiculous amount of recent emails to this list have only been tangentially, if at all (this previous post being just the most recent and possibly worst example), related to helping others out with Octave.

I don't want to this to sound like a "threat" of any sort, in part because I am just an very occasional contributor and I don't expect my opinion to carry much, if any, weight, but I'm considering leaving this mailing list because of a preponderance of posts like this one which have no purpose other than to transmit personal insults through a mailing list.
