How to stop: "warning: mark_as_command is obsolete and will be removed from a future version of Octave"

Octave 3.2.4 is producing this warning message to STDERR every time it starts, even if I start it with "octave --silent". I am running Octave scripts in batch mode and don't want anything written to STDERR unless there is really something wrong with the script. Is there any way to turn this off short of editing the file "mark_as_command.m". It seems to me like a bug.
