hi,
I cannot reproduce your problem running Octave 2.1.35 (a bit outdated,
I know...) with Gnuplot 3.7 patchlevel 2 on a Debian 3.0r2 box, and
only 4 figures show up in 'picture.ps' after running your script.
What version of octave & gnuplot are you using? in which platform
and OS?
