Yes, it's a good reason, but can be accomplished by using
"encoded" techniques, like 
     macy AT california DOT com

Anyone reading would understand but spam would reduce.  

ALSO!  I keep responding by hitting "reply", not "reply to
all" which keeps cutting out the group.
