I think it would be much more useful to have a DCOM interface for
Octave.  Then you could probably do what you want more efficiently.
There is a DCOM interface for R that could probably be used
as a starting point.  You can find it here:

Would someone who is knowledgeable about Windows like to work on this
project?  If so, please let me know.
