Octave on a Free Software Conference

I've been selected to give a 15' speech on Octave(+octave-forge) and
SciLab on a local Free Software Conference. This conference is the first
official step on a long term plan to adopt free software on the local
state university.

I was wondering if anyone has some cool success story or pictures I
could show. I'm also interested on future plans for Octave (or
octave-forge).
