When I do this, I get the following message:
Warning: Please don't use old title `Fedora, with Linux 3.8.4-202.fc18.x86_64'
for GRUB_DEFAULT, use `Advanced options for Fedora>Fedora, with Linux
3.8.4-202.fc18.x86_64' (for versions before 2.00) or
`gnulinux-advanced-804d4813-edb5-43e5-b215-55d26db2ad5c>gnulinux-3.8.4-202.fc18.x86_64-advanced-804d4813-edb5-43e5-b215-55d26db2ad5c'
(for 2.00 or later)
That looks like "left quote" and "typesetter quote", ergo two different kinds
of quote marks. When I copy paste what it asks for including the quotes,
grub-mkconfig gives me this:
/etc/default/grub: line 4: unexpected EOF while looking for matching ``'
When I fix the quotes, and re-run grub-mkconfig I get this line in grub.cfg:
set
default="gnulinux-advanced-804d4813-edb5-43e5-b215-55d26db2ad5c>gnulinux-3.8.4-202.fc18.x86_64-advanced-804d4813-edb5-43e5-b215-55d26db2ad5c"
On reboot, the correct default is booted.
