Yes, 1.4 is the stable release achieved after 150 or so iterations of 1.3,
and 1.4.x for x > 0 are just bugfixes. 1.5.0 will begin a new development
cycle. Note even number releases (like 1.4) are the stable versions, odd
numbers (like 1.3, 1.5) are the development versions. A number of software
projects follow this convention (including the Linux kernel).
