I'm working on OSX, which unfortunately has bad ODBC support. Also, I'll be running this system under FreeBSD and have had to battle the UnixODBC/iODBC in the past for other apps like GRASS/GDAL/OGR, which has caused me to work directly with pgsql (from with my C source code).

Hello Jeff,

you can connect to PostgreSQL via ODBC.

Windows includes ODBC. On Linux you will have to install iODBC.

Please, refer to http://www.postgresql.org/docs/7.1/static/odbc-install.html for installation instructions.

Best regards

I have created an experimental intelligent software agent for forests, forestry, and forestry related data using PostgreSQL (and a ton of other open source tools) and use glpk for standard optimization models.

I've never used MathProg and think I should include that option (e.g. transp_mysql.mod) into my agent, but need to connect to PostgreSQL databases.

I see there are examples for connecting to ODBC and MySQL data sources.

Is there any demand for doing with with PostgreSQL?

Jeff.
