If you get as far as initramfs prompt at all, it's very unlikely that
GRUB has done anything wrong

Thanks, that's good to know.  Should I assume that the messages were more 
cosmetic than not?  If anything is missing that I need to add or fix, please 
let me know.  Otherwise, I'll concentrate on troubleshooting initramfs.
