Hey Matt, glad you got it running. I havent interfaced it with mosstatd or
gomd yet so dont owrry aboutthat. I suspect the problem is that you tried
to run it remotely. In theory that probably -should- work, but in practice
i imagine that unaccelerated 3d across the network would be so slow it
didnt look like it was doing anything. Did you try running any of the OGRE
demo's like that? I bet if you can find a machine to run it locally on
youll be fine. I've never been to impressed with X's network transparency,
maybe its just my luck..

 Your hardware sounds okay, you dont need a "special"  graphics adapter,
however unless you have a decent nvidia or ati card you probably wont get
much of a frame rate. I got ~40 fps with an old geforce2 mx200, which is
the lowest end nvidia card you can buy, so its really not that hardware
intensive. im sure your PIII ghz can handle it, ive been developing iwth a
duron 1ghz w 256mbs of ram.
