I'm using the cvs software to make patches. Once you installed cvs in
your computer, and initialized for gnugo using checkout command, you can
use the command like:

cvs diff -u influence.c >cosmic_patch

It automatically check the difference of the file on cvs and your local
file. I think this is the most reliable way.
