To Anonymous (Comment #21), Thank you very much for your interest. The level
of C required highly depends on the operation you want to do ;-), but
generally, if you know the basic K&R C

to follow Gnuastro's code. In some parts, more modern features like threads
are also necessary, but they aren't too complex (for example, we use the
simple POSIX Threads model: `pthreads').
About the question of "Where to start", please see the previous post in
Comment #14 ;-).
