Follow-up Comment #7, task #13991 (project gnuastro):

Today I saw the update in Gnulib thanks to your suggestion ;-). It did result
in an upstream improvement. The fix-git-ver-gen branch has been merged with
master.

About the creation of doc/genauthors and how it got mixed with this task, I
tried to explain in bug #47866. In short it was independent of this task and
it was my mistake to not put it in a separate branch. 

The reason for taking doc/genauthors out of the Makefile was for future
additions/modifications to it and to keep Makefile.am clean. We will most
probably need to expand this script in the future to make a better list and
doing that in a separate script is easier than within a recipe of a Makefile
rule.
