Follow-up Comment #2, task #13991 (project gnuastro):

For the record, probably "git-version-gen" script uses some bashism and fails
on systems where /bin/sh isn't bash (for example Debian and all derivatives,
that is  a very large part of GNU/Linux systems).  The result is that I can't
bootstrap the package right now.
