The D compiler is dmd rather than dc?

You could call dmd gdmd (gnu dmd) or g-dmd.

they get confused. Usually one reads the first and last letter of a word 
and not the middle. Same first and last letter, same lenght, same 
context, similar shape: people think GUIX runs systemd.
