Why does Gnome get to have power over what was the GIMP toolkit?
Why do they get to userp and control us? Why do they control the software ecosystem? Who made them boss?

no it got fatter with the GTK3 transition just like xfce. remember GTK3 is only useful for people who make software that can take advantage of it features. basic desktops like xfce and mate were fine on GTK2 and only got bloated going to GTK3.

Everyone transitioning to GTK3 is a sign of fear that the GNOME devs will abolish GTK2 in the near future. GNOME and Red Hat hold a monopoly over the Linux world.
