Details:

After I got configure to work, make failed, complaining that it didn't find
libXrandr.la in /usr/lib/ , even when I used the --libdir=/usr/local/lib/
switch with configure; linking /usr/local/lib/libXrandr.la from
/usr/local/lib/ to /usr/lib/ made make happy.  The same thing happened with
libXext.la

I have to build my own X: the package build's driver for my card won't work;
building just the driver doesn't work.

gnash 0.8.9
linux 2.6.36 (newer kernels have video bug)
slackware updated daily
