I know next to nothing about citations in general, so please bear with
me: if multi-cite support means being able to condense citations (e.g.
[1-3, 5, 9]), then bibtex can do at least some of that
(e.g. http://texblog.org/2007/05/28/mulitple-reference-citation/).
