What is that "very nature"? Something specific
about them?

Wouldn't a short prefix bestow the same charm
on any library?

It's a serious question, not rhetorical or
whimsical. Is there something special about
these libraries that calls for, or fits
particularly well, with a short prefix?

Or is it just that they're already out there
with short prefixes (and the charm they bestow)?
