Just a nitpick:

Not necessarily.  And "and so on" isn't really the case.

`mouse-4' and `mouse-5', for example, can have different
meanings for different mice.  And "and so on" would mean
that additional buttons were farther and farther to the
right, which isn't the case, in general.
